Rovinj is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns on the Croatian coast because of its unique appearance and its wonderful natural surroundings. The 67 kilometre long coast, 2,289 hectares of protected greenery, 14 islands, islets and rocks as well as a unique ancient town centre, make Rovinj unique. It developed in the tradition of a small fishing town under the watchful eye of its patron saint, Sv. Eufemija (St. Euphemia), with a distinctive form of boat, the batana, and the recognisable bitinada songs. Its beauty is especially valued by artists who painted the most beautiful motifs of this town and exhibited them in Grisija – the street of artists.
Rovinj offers numerous possibilities – walking in the wonderful natural surroundings, recreational sports, discovering hidden beauties, cultural heritage, archaeological sites, tasting some of the Rovinj delicacies, and last but not least, a comfortable holiday in the many high quality hotels and tourist resorts.
The town of experiences, Venetian architecture and harmonious colours, wonderful landscapes and music and songs, was crowned the Champion of Croatian tourism in 2008.
Once you see Rovinj, it will be clear why they call it the most romantic town in Croatia.

Brigajo mene domačini, nimam opravka z njimi. Meni so romantični kraji, ulice, obala, plaže, mesteca, konobe, vonj po borovcih, itd. Seveda v dobri družbi 😆

Rovinj Croatia is one of the most romantic beach destinations in all of Europe, that's why so many people travel here during the summertime.
Like much of Croatia, Rovinj has this feeling like you are traveling throughout the coastal regions of Italy. Maybe that's because Rovinj is just across the Adriatic Sea from Italy, or maybe it has more to do with the fact that for around 500 years Rovinj was once part of the Republic of Venice Italy, either way this place is full of old world charm, beauty, culture and history.
"There are many wonderful and beautiful places to discover
here on the narrow streets of Rovinj Croatia"
But during the 1800's when this little town was under the Austrian's rule is when this place really started to prospered. That's because the rich and famous during that time would come down from Austria and use Rovinj as one of their favorite vacationing spots, and it has never stopped.
You see Europeans have been traveling here for hundreds of years now, and since this town is so close to the major city of Pula (A short 45 minute drive north of Pula), many Croatian's and European's alike make Rovinj their favorite summertime vacation destination.
"Many sights to see in Rovinj like Balbi's Arch"
The major landmark and icon of the city is the prominent Church on top of the hill called "The Church of St. Euphemia."
When you make your way up here you will find panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea.
Down here by the boat harbor there is so much to see and do, as well as eat at some of the best places in town. Many of the restaurants here serve some wonderful fresh fish dishes caught by local fisherman. While you sit here waiting for your meal, it is so fascinating to watch the lives of people that go by.
It's fun to watch people while you are sitting there enjoying a bottle of wine, eating some of the most delicious food you have ever had as the sun sets off in the distant Croatia skyline. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
Now there are many Croatia beaches to go to while visiting Rovinj, most are perfect for families and others are just for adults.
Some of the most popular beaches have nearby cafes, restaurants and bars, which is great when you want something to eat or drink. But they also have "Blue Flag Beaches," which provide many services like life guards, showers, toilets and dressing rooms too.
North of the "Montauro Cape" you will find "Lone Bay" beach this is a perfect beach for families, they even have trucked in some sand to make this a more family friendly beach.
South of Montauro cape you will find another family friendly beach called "Kurent Bay." This is one of those nice beaches with a nearby snack bar and restaurants.
"Cuvi Bay" is another fun family beach, with rocks to jump off of into the water. It is also a nice beach for families because the shoreline slopes nicely into the water, compared with many other places in Rovinj where there are only huge rock slabs.
A couple of other really nice and very popular family beaches are "Porton Biondi Beach," "Borik Beach" and "Polari Beach."
All of these Croatia beaches will keep you entertained and loving the beach life here in Rovinj Croatia.

Rovinj beaches are typical of the kinds of beaches that you will find in Croatia, but you have to be careful because some of them are family friendly beaches and others are strictly for adults. As you stroll around this charming little town you will discover the beauty and romance that is Rovinj. The town of Rovinj is quite picturesque and beautiful, the sights and sounds of this place will stay with you for a lifetime.
nude Beaches
Some of the nudist beaches can be found along the many little hidden coastal coves.
Some of the beaches are well known around Rovinj as nudist beaches and yet you will find that some people will take off their clothes almost anywhere they want along the coastline if they are alone or not.
But most people will respect the public beaches dress codes, and if they want to get naked they will do so on their own elsewhere in a private area. But don't be surprised if you're at a public beach and a women nearby takes off her top and sunbathes topless, the Europeans are very free and easy going that way.
"Villas Rubin" is a popular beach where you will find families and women lying topless. "Montauro Cape" is a very popular place for nudist to go to, you will see people amongst the rocks and cliffs sunbathing nude here all the time.
A couple of other popular nudist beaches are "Zlatni rt," "Punta Corrente" (Golden Cape) and spots in and around "Skaraba Bay," "Crveni Otok" and "Valalta beach."

Most of Croatia beaches themselves are made up of rock slabs and pebble beaches, they are not the most comfortable beaches lay-out in the sun on or to walk on, so make sure you have a towel and flip-flops or some kind of comfortable shoes to wear. As I mentioned before there are some beaches that are not so family friendly, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the many other wonderful things about Rovinj, especially those spectacular Croatian sunsets.
So come and enjoy this beautiful Croatian town and meet the wonderful people that make this place so special.
Rovinj Photodays
This ambitious project is a photographic event where recognitions will be awarded to the authors of the best photographs created in the course of 2012. je Rovinj eno izmed prekrasnih mest s čudovito klimo..
Rovinj Night - a traditional culture & entertainment event
Covered event:
Tourist Board of Rovinj Rovigno
The “2Cellos” presented themselves to the audience, pouring into the town in long lines of cars during the entire day, in the best possible way – by energetic and passionate interpretations of world hits. During the one-hour programme, which ended with two encores, Stjepan and Luka performed hits by Sting, U2, Guns ‘n’ Rosesa, Michael Jackson, AC/DC, King of Leon, Nirvana and others, which literally captivated the audience, thereby turning a warm and pleasant Rovinj night into a concert to remember.
However, apart from the special guests who arrived to Rovinj in between two concerts, the first they had already done in London and the second that is to take place in New York, the continuing Rovinj Night was crazy and unforgettable. At the Monte promenade, the audience were entertained by the excellent Duo Strings, while the central stage was reserved for Le Monde and Eva Čiček and the Party Band. The stage on the Rivijera Square once again proved to be almost a separate event. The principal roles there were taken by the Dream Project, the Just Duo, Kristian Terzić, Tasha and friends goes Rock.
It should be pointed out an excellent intro to the Rovinj Night was created by majorettes and members of the marching band, who presented themselves with sound and step. In terms of the atmosphere created in front of every stage – the best evidence is given by the length of the shows.
These went into the wee hours. In order to keep the pace, the caterers of Maistra and employees of Hotel Adriatic, as well as members of the association the Batana House and members of the cooperatives Vitis and Rubinum, took great care of food offered. Drinks offered were the care of cafe and restaurant owners, who closed their establishments and offered liquid treats from their terraces during the Rovinj Night.
Super, daj.
V Dubrovniku in na Elafitih sem bila takoj prvo leto po vojni. Unproforovci in posamičen Slovenec smo si lastili celo mesto. Ok, pa Nemci seveda 🙂
Neprecenljivo, ko imaš večino mesta zase.
btw.
