I miss the fold
As I grow ever old
I'd be ever bold
To touch the sun again
Such fires
Would surely burn my hand
Clearly reserved for the cunning
Of a younger man
Each passing year
I feel my youth fade
What can be said
A toll must be paid
Suffice it to say
Weary
Today
I fear no longer
My life fading away
The life I've had...suffice it
I am glad
To have walked amongst
Kings as peers
So closer now
This withering in my near
I beg the stars to disappear
So I'll grip this knife
And let my blood flow
Hold fast...thy lament
I am proud that I can go
This frivolous wisdom
With each year will surely pass
Tormenting my mind
I've seen enough
This light no longer
Holds anything for me
Burning now within my tired heart
Beating faster now
I accept my chosen fate
So sure now
I will not hesitate
Yet
I put my hand all on her knee
She says to me do you want to see?
I put my hand all on her breast
She says do you want to be kissed?
I put my hand all on her thigh
She says to me do you want to try?
I put my hand all on her belly
She says to me do you want to fill 'ee?
Gently, gently, Johnny,
Oh gently, gently, Johnny,
Johnny, my jigaloo!
I think I could turn and live with animal. They are so placid and self-contained. They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins. They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God. Not one of them kneels to another or to his own kind that lived thousands of years ago. Not one of them is... respectable - or unhappy all over the earth.
Much has been said of the strumpets of yore
Of wenches and bawdy house queens by the score
But I sing of the baggage that we all adore,
The Landlord's Daughter
You'll never love another
Although she's not the kind of girl
To take home to your mother
The Landlord's Daughter
Her ale it is lively and strong to the taste
It is brewed with discretion and never with haste
You can have all you like If you swear not to waste
The Landlord's Daughter
And, when her name is mentioned
The parts of every gentleman
Do stand up at attention
The Landlord's Daughter
Oh, nothing can delight so
As does the part that lies between
Her left toe
And her right toe
The Landlord's Daughter
In the woods there grew a tree
A fine, fine tree was he
On that tree there was a limb
And on that limb there was a branch
On that branch there was a nest
And in that nest there was an egg
In that egg there was a bird
And from that bird a feather came
Of that feather was a bed
On that bed there was a girl
And on that girl there was a man
From that man there was a seed
And from that seed there was a boy
From that boy there was a man
And for that man there was a grave
From that grave there grew a tree
In Sumerisle, Sumerisle, Sumerisle, Sumerisle, Sumerisle
On that tree there was a limb
And on that limb there was a branch
On that branch there was a nest
And in that nest there was an egg
In that egg there was a bird
And from that bird a feather came
Of that feather was a bed
In Sumerisle, Sumerisle, Sumerisle, Sumerisle, Sumerisle
On that bed there was a girl (Sumerisle, Sumerisle)
And on that girl there was a man (Sumerisle, Sumerisle)
From that man there was a seed (Sumerisle, Sumerisle)
And from that seed there was a boy (Sumerisle, Sumerisle)
From that boy there was a man (Sumerisle, Sumerisle)
And for that man there was a grave
From that grave there grew a tree
